The ladies who were present in November have signed up to bring the below listed items.

1 coleslaw

1 salad

1 cranberry sauce

1 dozen rolls

1 vegetable

6 desserts

The Lodge will provide Hams

GIFTS FOR KIDS:

The ladies decided to bring an unwrapped gift for a boy or girl. The toys collected will be taken to a local community center for distribution among the needy children.

At the Christmas meeting the ladies will be making and stuffing candy cane mice. These table favors will be given to a local nursing home for their residents. Come and have an enjoyable evening with your Lodge Brothers and their ladies on this, our last Stated meeting before the installation of officers.

WB Bill

Howdy Brothers and Sisters!

Well the year is almost done. I would like to take a moment to say thank you to WM Bill for all the great work he has done this past year.  This position was dropped in his lap at the last minute and I think he handled it really well.  I would also like to thank his wife, Peggy, for all her help.  She was instrumental in helping me get the widows dinner set-up.  Now that the year is almost done maybe WB Bill can get out his Harley and get some riding in.  Just don’t forget to stop by once in awhile to let us know where you’ve been.  Thank you again WB Bill and Peggy.

I would also like to thank the brothers for their support they have shown me in their voting me as Master next year.  With your support and guidance I will endeavor to do the best job I can.  Thank you again my brothers.  See y’all at our next meeting!  Be safe in all your travels and Happy Holidays!

 Tom K. SW

May all your travels be safe,
May the wind always fill your sails,
May your table be filled with plenty,
And may the sun keep you in its' warm embrace!

Hi Brethren

As we wind down the year I get busier. Still collecting or trying to collect 2002 dues and/or assessments; sending out statements for 2003; training my soon to be replacement (he will do fine) and just busy! Now the Donkey Story.

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally he decided the animal was old and the well needed to be covered up anyway, it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement, he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer looked down the well and was astonished at what he saw. With every shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up! Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred. 2. Free your mind from worries. 3. Live simply. 4. Give more. 5. Expect less.

P.S. The donkey later came back and kicked THE CRAP out of the farmer that tried burying him.

MORAL: When you try to C.Y.A. it always comes back to get you.

Hi Brothers and Ladies

Some times I get a lot of input from our brothers and some times I don't. If your Newsletter looks a little thin, write me a note or give it to me in Lodge (hint about more Brothers attending) or even better, e-mail it to me. My e-mail is mike.smitson@attbi.com. I would love to get some little bit of our Lodge History included in our monthly Moonlighter!

Steilacoom Lodge #2's Installation will be held on December 27, 2002 as it has always been before and will always be in the future. This year it will be on a Friday! Weather permitting and you are able, come and see your Lodge's Installation of Officer for 2003!

If you like something I am doing or don’t like something I am doing with the Moonlighter, please let me know!

This month’s input for the Moonlighter seems to be a little thin so I found something to help fill the pages. I hope you like these Articles I find on the Internet! I hope to find more of these and pass them on to all of you in the future!

Thanks

The Editor!

Merry Christmas

And

                                                                    A Merry New Year!
